Gotham Storytelling Festival: Nov 7-12 in NYC

Oct. 26, 2012

Several This American Life contributors will appear in the First Annual Gotham Storytelling Festival in New York City, from Wednesday, November 7th to Monday November 12th. The festival presents ten storytelling shows, plus a workshop, a panel discussion and an open mic.

On Wednesday, there's And I Am Not Lying, a storytelling/comedy/burlesque mashup, co-hosted by contributor Jeff Simmermon.

On Thursday, catch the 4th Anniversary performance of Told, hosted by our staffer Seth Lind. (Fun-ish facts: Told is where we recorded Julian McCullough's appendix story from "A House Divided"... and you may remember Seth's story about seeing The Shining when he was a kid, in "Fear of Sleep.")

On Saturday, Seth Lind returns to moderate a panel on the craft of live storytelling, including contributor Jim O'Grady.

On Sunday, there will be a hands-on storytelling workshop taught by Moth GrandSLAM champion Peter Aguero.

There are a bunch more shows, too, including a chance for you to tell your story at an open mic. NOTE: Ticket links appear on the main festival page, or click the gray dates on the calendars on individual show pages.
